This message is for the churches and prayer teams of the Diocese of Fort Worth.

JOINING OUR HEARTS
PRAYING FOR GOD’S WORLD

Please join the World Mission Committee in praying for our global partners and the suffering church.

Globally in the past week, cases of COVID-19 have increased resulting in over 3.6 million new cases. Please continue to join us in our prayers for the Lord to relieve the world of this pandemic, to guide the medical and health officials and the politicians in their decisions, and to bring healing to those who are infected.

At this time when we have to keep physically distant, it is more important than ever that we draw close to one another spiritually, praying together.

IN MEMORIAM

FATHER GLENN POLHEMUS

With mingled joy and sadness, we give thanks for the remarkable life of John Glenn Polhemus III, Chairman of the Board of La Gran Familia, who died of a heart attack this weekend.

Over decades, Glenn’s love built a thriving ministry that touched the hungry, the hurting, and the rejected – especially children – and changed lives for the better. He has been a great friend and ministry partner of our diocese for over 20 years.

Please pray for his wife Mollie, and their children and grandchildren. Pray for the children of LGF as they grieve and for the LGF Board as they prepare for how God will move this ministry forward during this difficult time. Click here to read more.

GLOBAL PARTNERS

Malawi from Bishop Fanuel:

Continue to pray for the Lord’s blessing and provision on the completion of the office complex project in Muzuzu. May the Lord continue to protect the workers and provide for all their needs.
Pray for all the many new confirmands in the diocese that they may continue to grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord.

La Gran Familia (LGF) from Barbara Hautanen:

There is a surge of Covid in Cuauhtémoc. Pray for continued good health for the children and staff as they have gone back into lockdown.
Pray for complete healing from Covid for Martín Córdova, Director of LGF. Martín lives and is now in quarantine in a house on the LGF property. Pray for protection for the all the children and staff.

Mandalay from Bishop David Nyi Nyi Naing:

Pray for the violence in Myanmar between the Christians and governmental forces.
Pray for Archbishop Stephen Than as he leads the Province on Myanmar.
Please continue to pray for the Diocese of Mandalay and the new diocese that is forming in Homelin.

Africa from Glen Petta:

Gafcon General Secretary, Archbishop Ben Kwashi is still undergoing treatment for cancer. He is positive and upbeat. Please continue to pray for healing for Archbishop Ben and for Gloria as they face this serious challenge.
Pray for the flooding in South Sudan that is ruining the crops and displacing many people from their homes.
Pray for Uganda, Kenya and most of East Africa where many suffer from famine caused by a lack of the movement of food due to Covid.

FOR THE PERSECUTED

Church in Nigeria:

Many areas of the Church of Nigeria continue to suffer severe persecution for their faith. Pray for them as they hold their annual Divine Commonwealth Conference November 15-19. Pray for a divine covering of protection and the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on all who attend. Click here to learn more.

Church in Pakistan:

Pray for Pakistani Pastor Sohail who was just released on bail from 6 months in prison for his advocacy for the minority Christian community. We pray for the dropping of all his charges and that awareness of his imprisonment will lead to more exposure of how Christians are being persecuted in Pakistan. Click here to learn more.

OFFERING THANKSGIVING

We thank God for the life and service of our dear friend and ministry partner, Glenn Polhemus.
We offer thanksgiving that the tutors have been able to return to LGF to help the children with their virtual learning.
We thank God for 89 new members confirmed at the missionary Parish of St. Monica Kabwafu, Mzimba.
