Blessed Holy Week and Joyous Easter

As we enter into the Lord’s passion this Holy Week may we remember the many Christians around the world who suffer in unimaginable ways. Remember those in prison for their faith. Remember those who will celebrate the Resurrection in secret or alone. Sustain them in their suffering, O Lord as they await the coming of your Kingdom.

Thank you for continuing to intercede with us. And thank you for sharing these prayer requests with your churches so others may pray.

GLOBAL PARTNERS

Malawi from Bishop Fanuel:

Malawi is still experiencing a significant rise in Covid cases. They have received some doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine but there is a lot of misinformation, which may make people not willing to receive it. Pray for the diocese as they try to help with accurate information on the vaccine.
Bishop Fanuel is working to establish a radio station so that the Anglican Church can join others in radio evangelism. Pray for favor in the application process for a license with the Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority.
The diocese is anticipating a good harvest this year due to the government offering input and fertilizer subsidies to about 3 million people. This has resulted in good produce. Pray that the rains will continue to be coming in favorable ways as they have received so far.

La Gran Familia (LGF) from Barbara Hautanen:

Please continue to pray for protection for La Gran Familia and that the cartel violence in the city will subside. Pray the drug cartel will be reached with the love of Christ.
Pray for the physical and emotional healing of three siblings, Angel, Sara and Jorge (ages 2-11) who are recuperating at LGF after being found hungry and abused in their home.
Pray for nine-year-old Ana Luisa who was found abandoned. Praise God that she is now happy living at LGF and healing from health problems brought on by living on the streets.
Pray for Angel, 11 and Gladys, 9 who come to LGF during the week to go to school and be cared for while their single mom works long hours. We praise God that this family can be together on the weekends.

Mandalay from Bishop Reed:

Pray for Archbishop Stephen Than Myint Oo, Archbishop of the Church of the Province of Myanmar, following the military coup on Feb 1. May the Holy Spirit fill him with fresh faith, courage, and wisdom in these days.
Pray for Bishop David and his family as they continue to serve the Diocese of Mandalay.
Pray for the great needs of the people and for the churches as they respond.

FOR THE PERSECUTED

Church in Nigeria:

Pray for justice and accountability in Nigeria. Pray for advocates from the UN Human Rights Council who are calling for an investigation into crimes committed against Christians.

Church in Pakistan:

Pray for young Christian girls in Pakistan – often as young as 13 - who are kidnapped, forced to convert to Islam and then given in marriage to older Muslim men. Pray for exposure and accountability within the police department that this evil will be stopped.

OFFERING THANKSGIVING

We join Bishop Fanuel and the Diocese of Northern Malawi in thanksgiving for the blessing of good harvest this year.
We praise God for His provision of the Covid vaccines that are being distributed around the world. May this pandemic end we pray.
